Soft skill training programme are organized at SSBS for the students with an aim to understand, improve their skills and make them employable. The achieve the amin following process is adapted.
The presentation will be monitored by a conductor. The presenter can make a choice of the conductor during the registration. The conductor will present a preamble of the research area from where the article was selected. The preamble can be of 5-10 minutes in duration.
To adhere to the duration of the session, the questions and suggestions will be at the end of the presentation
At the end of the presentation the conductor will ask specific questions from the data presented and provide suggestions towards enhancement of presentation skills.
The conductor will welcome questions from the audience.
The conductor will answer the questions of the audience in case the presenter fails to do so.

The Scientific Information Presentation Skills Training sessions helped students to understand the research updates and present the information to expert faculty and students. Overall, it enhanced their skills to communicate scientific literature in vocal formats.
English language skills are a prerequisite for better career prospects nowadays. Proficiency in English is important as it is the most commonly used language in academia or otherwise. Good verbal and written communication skills are mandatory to augment the odds of success in careers. Language lab at SSBS has been initiated with the purpose of developing excellent communication skills among students.

The language lab sessions helped students to develop their overall personality with focus on communication and presentation skills useful in academics and otherwise.
To face the challenges in the life and to serve the society, SSBS also takes the responsibility of training the students physically and mentally and bring out their latent talent. Motivating the students to achieve peace, health, happiness is the aim of this activity.
Dr. Bishnudeo Roy, (Assistant Professor, SSBS) conducted regular Meditation Sessions for students, staff and faculty of SSBS. Starting from mid-April 2021 till May 2021 weekly, three sessions were conducted on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday between 6:30 to 7:30 pm. 1st and 2nd year students of M.Sc. BT programme, some faculty members as well as a few non-teaching staff from SSBS, participated in the meditation session. During each session, Dr. Roy facilitated meditation based on different techniques. During the 1st week, the techniques were based on music assisted physical movement in the form of dance and/or shaking followed by periods of silence and stillness. In the second week, the focus was on feeling and synergizing the body’s energy centres (7 Chakras – Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye, and Crown Chakras) by channelising the sound vibrations or breathing or attention to these energy points.

After each session, participants shared their experiences and expressed that they felt stress free, relaxed, refreshed and joyous after the meditation session.
To orient the students towards new trend and innovation in Biotechnology, guest lectures and Finishing School activity are conducted at SSBS every year. A talk by distinguished speakers on various topics such as career opportunities, entrepreneurships, roles and responsibilities in quality control labs, Importance of communication skills, trends in biologics and biosimilars development & tips for competitive exams and research career in India and abroad are scheduled throughout the year.
